This website has been  created in memory of our daughter, Kristen Nicole Proffitt Barker. Kristen blessed us all by showing up...late...on October 9th, 1985.  But on July 26th 2006, Kristen died suddenly as a result of complications from her diabetes...ketoacidosis.  She was only 20 years old. She left us all far too early. 

Kristen was diagnosed with Juvenile Diabetes at the age of 9, requiring insulin to live. She battled with many aspects of this disease, both physically and emotionally, only to fall victim to it at such an early age. This website has been created to celebrate her life, talents and impact she had on so many people she knew, and now, many she will never know...at least in this life, though she will introduce herself to you one day far beyond this realm. Until then, get to know her a little here through some photos and her art. We deeply appreciate the incredible love and support we have received from so many friends and family throughout the country, and the continued prayers and well-wishes still sent our way.
